Who can’t appreciate a hockey star in a Hollywood production! During his 11th season with the NHL, Cam Neely decided it was his time to shine on the big screen.
Cam had some pretty impressive years as a hockey player, the Bruins have retired number 8 in his honor, his stats were up there with Gretzky and Lemieux, and he’s been induced to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005. He’s stayed a part of the Bruins organization, starting out as their VP in 2007 and eventually upgrading to President in 2010.
To add to his list of accomplishments, he was in office when the Bruins hoisted the cup this past summer. However, as you’ll see, Neely’s skills surpassed the rink.
Neely, who plays a trucker named Sea Bass in the movie Dumb & Dumber, makes an appearance during a restaurant scene where Harry (Jim Carey’s character) throws the saltshaker over his right shoulder, in an attempt of avoiding bad luck. Bad luck is not avoided, though, as the saltshaker hits Sea Bass. Neely’s way of retaliating? Spitting in his burger.
Cam’s appearance in Dumb & Dumber wasn’t his first or his last acting gig. He’s also made appearances in Rescue Me, Cheers, Stuck on You, and Me, Myself & Irene.
